The agents in the US who have taken over Minghui didn’t set out to do a superficial, short-term job. I think that this could be the biggest misconception people carry that makes it hard for them to believe that Minghui has dozens of fake articles every month and that it is under the control of a covert, hostile entity. As part of their effort they will, for example, visit Falun Dafa practice sites while pretending to be interested in the practice, to gather information. They will ask practitioners questions so that they can get what they think is a clearer understanding of the situation. They are getting paid by a group to do this, so it isn’t going to be carried out at the level of a prank. That’s the other misconception people might be carrying, that it is like a hacked front page of a website. It’s instead a very big effort implemented gradually over time. They will read all of the books and lectures. They will look at old article submissions and take details from them. So, the details they take are from actual practitioners, either in person or from existing articles. They will also take phrases from the books and lectures that practitioners naturally use in their own articles and they will use them too. That’s what makes it more than a trivial effort to detect whether an article is fake. Detecting an article as fake isn’t immediate all the time, however I do spot many from the title and usually it only takes one or two paragraphs. You will be reading one of their fake articles and it sounds fine and then suddenly there is something not right in it or, as is the objective, there are sentences that are actually subversive but look normal on the surface but you won’t know that unless you know the article is fake.
