Practicing Falun Dafa in the West does not require becoming an enthusiast of Eastern culture. That said, all Westerners will go through a process of adjusting to Eastern thinking while studying the books and practicing, but there is no need to learn the Chinese language because the deeper meanings of the books reveal themselves when you truly practice, regardless of what language you speak. This is a point mentioned repeatedly by Master Li Hongzhi across various lectures. The front page of falundafa.org lists all of the languages where you can find translations.

When I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2009, I had no background in Eastern studies, and it took me about a year to fully adjust to the thinking. Over time, I acquired the cultivation vocabulary. I practiced in the Great Primordial-Tao School in earlier times, whatever you think that means, so I would be one of the people to set the foundation for lots of people to practice Falun Dafa in the English-speaking West. Most Westerners aren’t able to do it right now because the barrier is too high. Only in recent years, after reaching an advanced level of practicing Falun Dafa, have I looked into what it will take to learn Chinese. Probably you can’t do this right now if you aren’t from Great Primordial-Tao School.
