True practitioners are clear on the mission, which is to validate the Fa, let people know of the practice and, especially if you are Chinese, tell the world about the persecution happening in mainland China. In all of these efforts, you are “on the Fa” (following the requirements) if you are open to assistance from any practitioner, and you will set aside any differences or past grievances for the larger goal at hand. That is an indication of true cultivation practice. It’s the way to know whether a group of practitioners is doing well. If they aren’t doing this, they have problems. There aren’t that many of us in the West, so it is even more the case that your mindset will reflect this.

You also have an obligation, if you think a practitioner has gone astray or done something wrong, to inform that person. You have to be open to criticism as well. All of these are requirements laid out. Anything less than doing this is not truly practicing Falun Gong, even if you perform in Shen Yun.

Signs of practitioners doing poorly include blocking other practitioners online, not responding, refusing to acknowledge or take criticism.
